Notes:

WCHCs Vol I, pg 289 Per Van & Ann Tipton 1975..”small cemetery on the old Schwertner home place about 1 mile S of Schwertner off of FM 1105. Presently consists of two small fenced plots. Remains of several have been removed from this cemetery to other sites.”

Per John Christeson on Find-A-Grave..”this is a small abandoned cemetery, overgrown with brush, small saplings & ground cover located in a pasture on Eugene Schwertner Farms No.81. To reach this cemetery turn S on FM 1105 at Schwertner, cross the bridge & park in front of the gate (triangle is a metal fence with the sign Eugene Schwertner Farms No. 81) at the junction of FM 1105 & CR 322. From the gate proceed NE across the pasture & you will soon see the remnants of the cemetery fence at the edge of the trees. There is only one Schwertner grave in this cemetery.  On 1 Nov 2017 the cemetery was visited and the brush and trees cut down that were in the cemetery. Later the landowner placed a fence around the existing gravestones to keep the cattle out.”

In 2018, this cemetery is maintained by the “Cemetery Restoration Volunteers” as one of the abandoned cemeteries maintained on a rotation basis of 20 cemeteries in Williamson County.  The volunteers are under the direction of WCHC’s Cemetery Committee Chair, Joe Plunkett.  In 2019, there are 9 volunteers, using their own equipment.  Donations received by WCHC help to defray costs of restoring tombstones.
