2010 on Find-A-Grave per John Christeson: “Cemetery is located on FM 1660 between Hutto & Jonah on N side of San Gabriel River near intersection of Monadale Gin & road [Chandler Rd?] going to Taylor. There are between 9-13 funeral home markers, no names. As of Sep. 24, 2010, the entrance lane to the cemetery is located on the E side of FM 1660 across the road from the TEXMIX Concrete & Materials plant, 3200 FM 1660. The lane is driveable by car & is only a short distance from the cemetery. The cemetery is a square plot about 40 x 40 feet & overgrown with ground cover, but had been maintained at one time as there was no brush or saplings. Only three gravestones were observed but others could be hidden by the ground cover.” Source: Rootsweb at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~shep/cemeteries/monadale.html
Off FM 1660 just N of CR 133.
In 2018, this cemetery is maintained by the “Cemetery Restoration Volunteers” as one of the abandoned cemeteries maintained on a rotation basis of 19 cemeteries in Williamson County. The volunteers are under the direction of WCHC’s Cemetery Committee Chair, Joe Plunkett. In 2019, there are 9 volunteers, using their own equipment. Donations received by WCHC help to defray costs of restoring tombstones.
