The Williamson County Historical Commission is proud to serve as Beneficiary of Tommy Bullion’s Eagle Scout Service Project.  Tommy has chosen for his Eagle Scout project, to clean up and preserve the cemetery located on his Dad’s place, and try to figure out the history of those buried there.  The Williamson County Historical Commission would like to extend a special thanks to Tommy Bullion & his family for their hard work on this project which was completed in August 2020.

Notes:

12251 FM 1331

Per THC dedication: Andrew Gordon instructed in his will to provide for a “family burial ground near my dwelling…and for the reservation of the graves already there on…”.

From Find-A-Grave:  “To reach this cemetery from Taylor go N on TX 95 to the junction with FM 1331 just S of Circleville. There is a gas station on the corner. Go E on FM 1331 to Hare, TX. Continue on FM 1331 about 1.3 miles & look for a white two story house on the N side of the road. The cemetery is located in a fenced-in enclosure in a pasture behind the house. It is heavily overgrown with small saplings, vines, creepers & ground cover. Only one gravestone was broken, although several were pushed over on the ground with their bases.”

Additional Notes:  Tommy Bullion’s Eagle Scout 2019-2020 Project uncovered a tombstone buried underground & the cemetery area was cleaned & re-fenced.
