WCHC Vol I, pg 65 per Harold Asher 1974…”From SH 29 at Liberty Hill, go N on Bear Creek Ranch Rd (CR 200). Cross Bear Creek, take the first left hand (CR 203) & cemetery is a short distance on the right. Land probably given by Mr. Connell.”

The historical marker has been reported as missing.

NOTE on R430308:  the owner is listed as “Smith Family Cemetery” but the WCAD map (shown above) has “Connell” above R430308.  The Smith Family Cemetery is located at 107 Brown Bridge Road in Liberty Hill.  WCAD HAS CORRECTED THE CEMETERY NAME TO CONNELL AT BEAR CREEK ON R430308.

In 2018, this cemetery is maintained by the “Cemetery Restoration Volunteers” as one of the abandoned cemeteries maintained on a rotation basis of 19 cemeteries in Williamson County.  The volunteers are under the direction of WCHC’s Cemetery Committee Chair, Joe Plunkett.  In 2019, there are 9 volunteers, using their own equipment.  Donations received by WCHC help to defray costs of restoring tombstones.
